SERIES | DIPTYCH WALLPAPER DRAWINGS 2006
This series of four drawings share the same three colored silk-screened patterns as the base for additional hand-drawn images.
The patterns were taken from existing images on very large silkscreen frames that were donated to the printmaking studio at the Department of Art, University of NC-Chapel Hill, while I was a visiting artist there in the spring of 2006. These original patterns were used commercially to print onto wooden tabletops. I selected three of these patterns and printed them, reconfigured, on two pieces of paper, with the intention that the new three-layer patterns would become the preliminary layer to which I would add drawn elements.
