This body of work developed out of a small series of masks of my father. The mask is the oldest symbol of alienation. The mask, as the other face, can hide the wearer, protect and transform a person. After I finished the Life Masks, I extended this object to cover the entire body and consider this work to be drawn representations of three-dimensional totems, made for ritual purposes. However, totems are always animal, plant or natural objects, and never take human form.
