SERIES | LOST AND FOUND  2011-2012 (LARGE STAGE DRAWINGS)

This series is my third collaboration and exhibition at Galerie Tom Blaess in Bern, Switzerland.  A “lost and found” is an area where visitors can go to retrieve lost articles that may have been found by other visitors.  It is an appropriate title for this body of work, since I continue to integrate my own imagery with illustrations from vintage books and contemporary media, which I redraw, edit and reassemble.

I was especially lucky to find an old bag of flea market photos left behind in Tom’s studio several years ago by an artist participating in one of Tom’s workshops.  Among the many images I found were several that an audience member took during some theater performances.  My response to these was immediate, as I had made a series of stage imagery in the 1970s and that spatial presentation has always appealed to me.
